Dear Friends,
The Naperville Bahá'í community invites you to a special screening of the movie, Origin,
on October 7th at 5:30pm in the Naperville Nichols Public Library community room.
If you are unable to attend in Naperville on October 7th there are many other dates and
locations to choose from, as well as an option to stream it from home.
The link below provides all of the information.Origin chronicles the tragedy and triumph
of Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Isabel Wilkerson as she investigates a global
phenomenon of epic proportion. The movie provides a deeper understanding of the history
and impact of racism through a new lens, caste. It points forward to ways American can
move beyond the artificial and destructive separations of human divisions, toward hope in
our common humanity. The movie lends itself to deeper discussions with the community on
building a community with the oneness of mankind at the forefront, on the foundation of
justice.
Please feel free to bring your family and friends. The movie is being shown free for you,
but registration is required by clicking the link below. You are welcome to bring your own
dinner or snacks.
Here is the link to register and for additional screenings:

Last week with the accompaniment of a friend, I met a gentleman for coffee who had reached
out on-line on the Inquiry Management System, to find out more about the Baha'i Faith. We
had exchanged several emails and text messages ahead of time, and I had answered many of
his questions. He visited the House of Worship and bought a couple books which he has
begun to read. As we drank our coffee and got to know each other, it was beautiful to see
how the teachings of Baha'u'llah had resonated with him. He had one "criticism" that he
wanted to share. While he appreciated the reasoning around the elimination of clergy in
the Baha'i Faith, he was wondering how people were supposed to discover Baha'u'llah's
revelation without a loud figurehead. I have been thinking about his comment all week.
Contributing to the transformation of society is part of our twofold moral purpose. Yet I
have always been shy and awkward in talking about it. How else are people going to hear
about it? For me the institute process has been a big help. Learning and practicing with
others has increased my confidence. There are so many people looking for the remedy and
keeping it to myself is, well, selfish.
"The All-Knowing Physician hath His finger on the pulse of mankind. He perceiveth the
disease, and prescribeth, in His unerring wisdom, the remedy." ~Baha'u'llah.
