⋅ Fridays By The Fire
Friday the 9th 16th & 23rd at
6pm.
Held at the Dobbs residence. Pleases message
(630-476-1437)
for the address.
Fridays by the Fire is a gathering that was
created with the current guidance from the
Universal House of Justice in mind - the
charge to build stronger and more vibrant
Communities that are open to all... the
yearning for meaningful conversations has
been heightened by the Pandemic as
loneliness and isolation surged through out
the world. Creating a space for
conversations was inspired by smaller
conversations that were already happening in
isolated spaces, so we decided to open our
home where friends could learn more about
how to transform small talk into meaningful
conversations that enhance connectedness,
our understanding of the world and our own
true nature. These conversations have the
power to penetrate humanity and to connect
individuals to the social ,spiritual and
ecological systems that impact them. They
also enkindle fellowship and friendship
throughout by creating bonds of trust and
love.
Our particular gathering is
music driven and snacks are served. We hope
you will join us with your friends or maybe,
simply create a space of your own.

⋅ Prayer Vigil
Every 9 Days 1pm - 9pm Feb 6th, 15th,
24th, 4th, 13th, 22nd, 31st, 9th, 18th,
27th
To harness the ‘Spiritual
Energy’ that the Conference released - the
Area Teaching Committee is proposing a 9
hour Prayer vigil from 1pm - 10pm every 9
days until Ridvan 2024.
“The conferences will aim at carrying to the
friends in every land the spiritual energy
released by the gatherings in the Holy Land, as
the community prepares for a dynamic thrust
forward with the launch of the Nine Year Plan.
These conferences, then, will give the
participants an opportunity to gain greater
insight into the nature of the spiritual
enterprise in which they are engaged, a sense of
the distance traversed thus far, and a deeper
understanding of the exigencies of the current
stage in the unfoldment of the Divine Plan. They
will strive to enhance appreciation of the
privilege of being part of a community that has
set its gaze upon the spiritual and material
transformation of society, and of the bounty of
being connected by bonds of love and camaraderie
with brothers and sisters in a global effort,
each one labouring within the same framework for
action, all united under the sheltering shadow
of the Covenant.” - Dept. of the Secretariat,
September 15, 2021

We recently started hosting youth gatherings in
our home and have seen the friendship and
fellowship that has come from it. We have
discussed topics ranging from the life of the
soul to does science support the existence of
God or not. Some weeks we have a set topic,
others times we watch a movie and discuss it,
and some times we just let conversation
naturally develop. Every time it is full of
vibrancy and is a much needs space for all. One
of my friends who has ben regularly attending
wrote this about it.
"When I moved to Illinois, I had very few local
connections. I knew very little about the Baha'i
faith, and when I first attended a youth
gathering, I had no idea it could be
considered more than a gathering of friends.
I've come to realize that youth gatherings are
exactly that: a place to find community and
fellowship, to make friends and discuss every
topic under the sun. I am enamored with the
focus on community outreach and camaraderie, and
this introduction to the Baha'i faith
has encouraged me to learn more."
